I spent a few days in Denver for a work conference this week & then spent another couple of days exploring Boulder with a friend. It didn’t end up being exactly the trip I would have planned (which would have included more time in the mountains, etc.), but it was still quite fun. I’m always working on my ability to go with the flow & even though it’s not my greatest skill (oops), I am definitely getting better! Practice makes perfect, right? 😉
Boulder was absolutely amazing. Denver was very nice, but Boulder was BREATHTAKING. Everybody keeps telling me that the leaves only last for a hot minute before the snow & rain comes & the leaves fall down & turn brown. Anyways, I was DEFINTELY there for the height of the moment, which was exciting.
Have you ever seen leaves that look like this in person?
It was actually hot in Boulder, which I wasn’t expecting. I wore my reliable black peacoat (similar here here here & – my favorite – here), my Uniqlo jeans (great fit), & my new leather booties that I’m in love with (similar here here here & – without a heel, but actually my favorites – here). Plus that glitter headband (which reminds me of this one from Ban.do), hah!, just so I could fit in properly in Boulder. (It’s a crazy city.)
I’m actually obsessed with this style of short boots right now. I get an extra inch in height, they look rullll cute, AND I can walk around in them for the whole entire day. (I’ve tested this theory on more than one occasion & it’s very very true.)
Aren’t these houses, covered in leaves, absolutely stunning. I’m totally in love with how the vibrant yellows & oranges & reds & bright green, even, sets off everything. It’s seriously stunning.
I didn’t get the chance to take as many photos as I’d hoped (see above for reasoning), but oh well. Such is life! I soaked up as much as humanely possible with my eyes, which is more than you can really ever hope for! 🙂
Gorgeous & sunny:
Hey Boulder, I’ll be back next Fall, for SURE. (Hiking, camping, kayaking, & more, please!)
p.s. I’ll be checking in again this week & next with some fun city stops & tips for both Boulder & Denver. Stay tuned!
