So maybe you can see why I am kind of obsessed with my hometown? These stunning photos are a testament to the ocean, the beauty of sunrises (it’s worth it to wake up almost always, I promise), &, well, Half Moon Bay in general. This beach is about a three minutes drive from my house. Wow.
I mean, come on! Those colors! The waves + the clouds + the ocean… breathtaking.
I was actually on my way to work when I took these. I’m a good little photographer sometimes & I actually had my real camera in my car with me, just in case something amazing like this actually happened.
Absolutely stunning. I honestly can’t get over that light.
On top of how stunning it is, this beach has a lot of emotional meaning for me. I had a first kiss with my first boyfriend on this beach. I celebrated my 17th birthday on this beach (at the time, I was sure it was my best birthday yet). I even broke my leg skimboarding on this beach (on my eighteenth birthday. bummer!). I learned to surf (sort of) on this beach, too.
Do you have places like this, with strong emotional ties?
While it means a lot to me & it’s absolutely magically stunning in these photos, I wouldn’t go as far as to say that this is my favorite beach in the world. I’ll always love it dearly, but I’m still quite endeared to Montara Beach. (It’s a pretty unbelievable place.)
That’s all. Just wanted to check in & share some images that I absolutely ADORE of a very wonderful place. What a stunner, right? Probably serves as a good reminder to watch more sunrises (& sunsets!), which is always something I’m promising myself that I’ll do more of. 🙂
