I know I’m a coastal California girl when I find snow THIS EXCITING! All of you snow peeps, I’m sorry! When you’re used to it, it’s just not that exciting. It’s a bit cold & it gets slushy pretty easily… or so I’ve heard. 😉
But for me, snow is pure magic. I grew up visiting the snow, definitely, but we’ve never been a skiing or snowboarding kind of family & even on those trips, I never actually saw it snow. Before this week, I can’t remember the last time I saw it actually snow. Snow on the ground? Sure. (Remember the Über Trip?! All snowy.) But actual flakes falling from the sky? I have no idea.
We met up with a photographer friend from Instagram in Bern. Nicole (whose feed is worth checking out for stunning landscapes) was wonderful. We loved hanging out with her & she absolutely definitely knew the places to take us. We left Bern in the rain, adventured in a few places I’ll share soon enough, & then headed up into the mountains.
The road is still technically closed for winter, but in anticipation of an opening later this month, they’ve already started to clear the pavement. We definitely took advantage of this & it was definitely absolutely breathtaking.
Snow was everywhere. On the ground, in the trees, falling from the sky, &, once we got out of the car, definitely stuck in my hair. I loved it, can’t you tell? xo 🙂
