Sam and I both had Sunday off, which was a magical convergence of schedules that hasn’t happened since… July? August? We tried, but couldn’t remember when we both had a whole day off. It’s been an insanely busy summer (China, Bahamas, Cuba) and fall (weddings, weddings, weddings) and while I am so so so thankful for everything that we’ve had the opportunity to do, it felt mighty good to sleep in late, get coffee at a cute spot, and then take off to the other side of the Bay for some fresh air and sunshine.
It actually rained in the morning, if you can believe that. By the time we made it over to the Golden Gate Bridge though, it was bright and sunny (and a little crisp). There were absolutely stunning views as we wandered around the tourists, snapped some pics, and then headed out for a walk.
In the evening, we headed to the Marin Country Market for dinner at Belcampo. They have excellent burgers made with high quality ingredients and it was a nice spot to sit and enjoy. A bit pricey, but worth it for the atmosphere and quality and taste. We will be back.
Just around the corner from the restaurant, there’s one of those old fashioned photo booths that has an ultra bright flash, a little red curtain on rolling hangers, a tiny tiny booth seat, and takes five minutes to print out your images (actually five!). It was super cute, used real ink (we had to wait for the stuff to dry when it popped out of the machine) and, the best part, it only cost $5! Couldn’t believe it was so cheap – definitely had to play twice.
What a perfect day off. The sun was setting as we headed home and the views over the Bay were beautiful. Thankful for a pretty place to live and a day to explore with my best friend. <3
